Marburg Firies participated in the South East Region Firefighting Championships held in Gatton on the weekend of April 18 and 19. Ten events were held showcasing their firefighting skills over two days. The team of four members had to demonstrate the drills as to how they would respond to a wide range of incidents on a daily basis. This team has been putting such a lot of effort into practicing for these events over the last few months.
Brad Dance and Nick Doyle in actionAfter coming second in the Regional Championships last year, their extra effort shows through with them claiming FIRST place this time, and earning them the CHAMPION FIREFIGHTING TEAM OF THE SOUTH EAST REGION. After ten events, the team claimed 8 FIRSTS and 1 THIRD placing. The team of Brad Dance (Team Captain), Nick Doyle, Glen Looker and Steve Foote will now represent their region at the QFRS State Firefighter Championships in Townsville in August.
